This week, we will be looking at how consumers feel about their purchases of technology. Many people find that buying devices such as mobile phones or personal computers can be very difficult. They feel like they’re not prepared to make the best decision to suit their needs. In your posts, I want you to discuss the following question: What do you believe is the biggest mistake that people make when buying tech products? Explain what this mistake is.
Claire
I think one problem is that people don’t match the product’s capabilities to their actual needs. My brother just got a new mobile phone, and he is very excited about how highly rated the camera is. But he hardly ever takes photos. So he paid for a feature that he doesn’t really need.
Paul
When people buy a new piece of hardware, like a laptop, they often don’t consider the software they are purchasing along with the hardware. If the software is not what you are used to or doesn’t work with your existing files, it can be frustrating to learn a new way of using your laptop.

As far as I am concerned, I firmly believe that buying tech products without consideration is the biggest mistake. There are so many products in the market, since they are always with some attractive advertisement, people will easily be attracted by them and make the decisions to buy some tech products like smart phones and laptops. But the illusion of the advertisement usually promts consumers risky decisions. For an instance, the beautiful image and fancy videos fo a new smart phone will really attractive thus you want to buy it immedieately even you had you new phone serveral months ago. And if you buy it, you will find you do not need it in fact. Claire make a compelling example for us, there are always some fancy functions on new tech products which you actually will not use it at all but seemly useful. So, in light of these arguments, I would in favor of the idea that purchasing tech products without consideration will be the biggest mistake.

In my opinion, the most significant mistake people make when purchasing tech products is failing to thoroughly evaluate their needs and the product's features. The market is inundated with various devices, often accompanied by enticing advertisements that can easily sway consumers into making impulsive decisions. For example, an individual may be captivated by a smartphone's sleek design and impressive promotional videos, leading them to purchase it despite having acquired a new phone just a few months prior. Upon reflection, they may realize that they did not actually need the new device.
Claire's example of her brother buying a phone with a highly-rated camera despite rarely taking photos illustrates this issue perfectly. Consumers often fall for the allure of seemingly useful features without considering whether they will genuinely utilize them. Therefore, it is crucial for individuals to carefully assess their requirements and resist the temptation of purchasing tech products based solely on superficial factors or marketing tactics.
