Professor
This week, we talked about strategies for planning our work effectively. One strategy is the to-do list which is a list of tasks that must be accomplished daily or weekly. Some people believe to-do list are extremely helpful. while others believe they can cause us to be overwhelmed and lose focus on what is really important. In this discussion, share your view about using time-management strategies such as to-do lists: How helpful are the for your work or studies? Why?
Claire
I can't function without to-do lists. I outline what my plan is every day because it helps me clarify what my goals are for the day. This provides the clear structure that I need to be productive. The best part of my day is when I check off my accomplishments at the end of the day and celebrate my small achievements.
Kelly
It's interesting how things work differently for different people. I find to-do lists very unproductive because I usually overload my to-do lists with a lot of tasks and end up completing only a few items from the list. This makes me less motivated for the next day.

In the context of overwhelmed workload, there is an ongoing debate regarding the to-do list. As for me, I concur with Claire's point of making to-do list. First, finishing the tasks in the to-do list make me feel a sense of achievement. To be specific, it is always satisfied for to check wether I achieve my goals during the working time. With the feeling of accomplishment, I feel more energetic and willing to start the next study stage, which can motivate my passions and facilitate the effectiveness of my work. Although Kelly states a seeming valid argument regarding the concerns of overloading the to-do lists, there is a solution. It is crucial to adjust the tasks in the list according to the precious statue of studying. You can cancel some tasks.

-

In the midst of managing overwhelming workloads, the efficacy of to-do lists remains a contentious topic. Personally, I align with Claire's perspective on the benefits of utilizing to-do lists. Primarily, completing tasks on these lists instills a sense of accomplishment within me. Specifically, assessing whether I have achieved my goals during my work hours brings immense satisfaction. This feeling of fulfillment invigorates me and fuels my enthusiasm for embarking on subsequent phases of study, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of my work. While Kelly raises a seemingly valid concern regarding the potential for overloading to-do lists, there is a viable solution: adjusting the tasks based on one's current academic status. By doing so, it is possible to strike a balance and maintain productivity without becoming overwhelmed. (129 words)
