Spelling, handwriting and grammar is no longer important in the modern world that we live in. This is mainly because we have technology that can replace handwriting, there is technology that can help us spell and that the goal of learning a language is not about handwriting, spelling and grammar. Nowadays, rarely any people still hand write because typing is simply better. Typing is better because we won’t have to deal with homeworks that got ‘eaten by dogs’ or homeworks that got blown away by the wind. I am sure dogs will be happy too because they no longer have to be the scapegoat. Not only is it better dealing with homeworks, it is also better than handwriting in many areas. For example, the tests we are taking now are moving online, in which we type our answers. Many companies also choose to make their contracts online because it is easier to read for everyone; you can just go on your computer to read it instead of waiting for a paper with messy handwriting on it. For all the reasons and examples listed, we can tell that handwriting is no longer dominant. Spelling and grammar is also no longer important in our world because there is technology that helps us with it and it simply does not matter. For example, when we type on our phone or on our computer, the auto-correct can correct our spelling errors. There are also apps like Grammarly that can correct our grammar. If you don’t know how to spell at all, you can just speak in the mic and it will type it for you! The goal of a language is to communicate ideas with each other and handwriting, spelling and grammar is a tiny part of it because we usually just call each other instead!

In today's technologically advanced world, some may argue that handwriting, spelling, and grammar have become less important due to various digital tools and alternative communication methods. This essay will discuss the significance of these language components in our current society by examining the impact of technology on written communication and the primary goal of language learning.
It is true that handwriting has lost its dominance in the modern world as digital communication continues to evolve. With the widespread use of computers and smartphones, typing has become a more efficient and convenient method of communication. For instance, many educational institutions have shifted from traditional paper-based exams to online assessments where students type their answers. Moreover, companies increasingly prefer digital contracts over paper documents due to their ease of access and legibility. As a result, handwriting is no longer as prevalent as it once was.
However, this does not necessarily mean that spelling and grammar are no longer important in our world. Although technology can assist us with these language components through tools like autocorrect and Grammarly, it is still essential to have a basic understanding of them to ensure effective communication. Relying solely on technology may lead to misunderstandings or misinterpretations if errors go unnoticed or if the software provides incorrect suggestions.
Furthermore, mastering spelling and grammar remains crucial for professional settings where clear and concise communication is vital. In job applications or formal correspondence, poor spelling or grammar may create a negative impression on potential employers or business partners. Additionally, having a strong command of these language elements allows individuals to express themselves more accurately and persuasively in both written and spoken contexts.
As for the primary goal of language learning being solely about communication rather than mastering handwriting, spelling, and grammar - this perspective oversimplifies the complexity of human interaction. While verbal communication plays a significant role in conveying ideas between individuals, written communication remains an indispensable aspect of our daily lives. Emails, reports, articles, and social media posts all require a certain level of proficiency in spelling and grammar to effectively convey the intended message.
In conclusion, although technology has indeed diminished the importance of handwriting in our current world, spelling and grammar continue to hold significant value. A comprehensive understanding of these language components not only ensures effective communication but also enhances one's credibility and persuasiveness in various professional and personal contexts. Therefore, it is crucial for individuals to develop their skills in spelling and grammar, despite the assistance provided by modern technology. (417 words)
