Your professor is teaching a class on history&culture. Write a post responding to the professor’s question. In your response, you should express and support your personal opinion make a contribution to the discussion in your own words An effective response will contain at least 100 words. You have ten minutes to write. Dr. Cruz:As we were discussing last week, people are now communicating and engaging in activities with people from different countries a lot more than before. We now have access to so many things from other countries, like English movies, Japanese cuisine and so on. Some people believe that introduction of foreign culture undermines their local culture. I want to hear about your take on this. Will:I agree with this statement without any hesitation. From what I have observed, the introduction of foreign culture is causing people’s loss of interest in their own culture, especially among youngsters. They would spend time and money celebrating foreign festivals, but they barely remember the tradition of their own. Therefore, I think this statement sounds true enough. Nancy:I would say it sounds too drastic. It is true that different cultures are blending in with each other right now. But I believe it’s actually a good thing for all. Every country has its merits when it comes to customs and traditions, which can probably be a great asset for other countries to learn from. So, I think we should all welcome the introduction of foreign culture.

As countries in the world are connected to each other tightly,I fully subscribe to the belief that more communication and blending of different cultures are of great help when spreading local cultures to the world.Closing your eyes and ignoring the marvelous changes of the outside world can only lead to limitations or lagging behind. For instance,in the Qing Dynasty,we mistook ourselves as the most powerful and wise people in the world for the sake of our long and rich history, not absorbing advanced opinions from the West and eventually resulting in traumatic experiences. On the contrary, being open and tolerant means hugging the world, which is vital to having the right to speak in front of other countries and can even inject the elements of local culture to the foreign one.The example of dumplings can precisely explain this point. With a tolerant and open altitude, dumplings gain great popularity abroad compared to the past and thousands of foreigners acknowledge their Chinese name --”jiaozi”.

Section Title: 6.文章修订
In today's interconnected world, I firmly believe that increased communication and the blending of diverse cultures significantly contribute to the promotion of local cultures globally. Turning a blind eye to the remarkable changes occurring in the outside world can only result in stagnation or falling behind. For example, during the Qing Dynasty, people mistakenly considered themselves as the most powerful and wise due to their long and rich history, neglecting to adopt advanced ideas from the West, which ultimately led to disastrous consequences.
On the other hand, being open-minded and tolerant allows us to embrace global perspectives, which is crucial for establishing a voice among other nations and even incorporating elements of local culture into foreign ones. The widespread popularity of dumplings serves as an apt illustration of this concept. With an open and accepting attitude, dumplings have gained immense recognition abroad compared to previous times, leading thousands of foreigners to become familiar with their Chinese name – "jiaozi."
As various cultures continue to intertwine and influence one another, it is essential that we remain receptive to these exchanges rather than fearing their potential impact on our own traditions. By doing so, we can foster a richer understanding of diverse customs while simultaneously promoting our own cultural heritage on a global scale. In this way, embracing foreign cultures does not undermine local traditions but instead strengthens them through increased exposure and appreciation by others around the world. (240 words)
