The essay should include more specific details from both sources to support the arguments. To improve task fulfillment, focus on incorporating evidence from the passages and directly addressing the question.

Examples:

  1. Include information from the listening passage about New York City's efforts to ban sugar-containing beverages larger than 16 ounces and discuss whether this is an effective strategy.

  2. Mention the increase in added sugar consumption between 1977 and 2010 from the reading passage, and explain how this relates to the debate over banning soda drinks.

4.Essay structure and organization The essay has a clear structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, some paragraphs could be more focused on specific points, and transitions between ideas could be improved. Nowadays, soda drinks are consumed worldwide, while a growing concern over the amount of sugar people are consuming via soda drinks persists. Some governments have implemented policies to ban all soda drinks in restaurants and food establishments. This essay will examine the reasons for and against banning all soda drinks.

One primary reason in favor of banning all soda drinks is their high sugar content. Research shows that one can of Coca-Cola contains 39 grams of sugar, equivalent to 10 teaspoons of sugar, which is more than 80% of the recommended daily intake for a healthy diet. Excessive sugar intake may contribute to health problems such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. New York City has taken action to combat obesity by banning the sale of sugar-containing beverages larger than 16 ounces.

Additionally, the appealing taste of soda drinks can lead to addiction, particularly among children. A recent study found that one in five children reported consuming beverages other than water on a given day, and those kids consumed more sugar and calories from sweetened beverages than kids who did drink water. The report indicated an increasing number of cases where children develop diseases like Type 2 diabetes, which used to occur more commonly in adults. The main cause behind this phenomenon is the sugar and caloric intake from sugary drinks and food.

However, some people argue that unhealthy lifestyles are the primary cause of obesity and other issues rather than soda drinks alone. Soda drinks themselves are not problematic; rather, excessive consumption of beverages including sodas, energy drinks, and juices is the issue. Instead of implementing policies to ban soda drinks outright, education about healthy lifestyles is key to changing behaviors. Raising awareness about the negative influence of sweetened soda drinks on people's physical health is more practical.

Apart from that, policies should not solely target soda drinks. Some sodas do not contain as much sugar as juices or milk tea; for example: soda water. Authorities should ban sugar-containing beverages that exceed healthy standards.

In light of the arguments presented, it is not realistic to ban all soda drinks since they have a massive consumer base. The authorities should focus on improving public awareness of health issues caused by sweetened beverages and advocate for a healthy lifestyle. (381 words)
