Professor
Today we’re going to talk about some social rules for young people to follow. Social rules can often help maintain order, prevent harm, and promote fairness. For example, there are education requirements, driving laws, employment laws, alcohol use and smoking laws. Some people argue that today these rules are too strict for the young since there are too many restrictions on them. What is your opinion on the issue?
Student A
I disagree that the rules that societies today expect young people to follow and obey are too strict. Teens need rules and structure to help them develop self-discipline, responsibility, and independence. They are at a crucial stage where they can easily be influenced and make unwise decisions. Rules can also help keep them safe and healthy by setting boundaries around risky behaviours such as drug use and unsafe driving. Therefore, I think we should set up more strict rules for the young to obey.
Student B
I think Sara has a point about strict rules helping teens remain safe and healthy. However, parents and other authority figures need to be mindful of how they enforce rules. Being too strict can lead to negative outcomes such as rebellion, dishonesty, and low self-esteem. Thus, its important for young people to have some autonomy and freedom to make their own choices.

While I appreciate the points mentioned by both Sare and Taehyun, my perspective is that social rules is beneficial for young people. What must be prioritized is that social regulations protect youngsters from being hurt. To begin with, social rules provide everyone with the access to education, due to the requirements of education. In detail, the government promulgates the law of compulsory education, which help people get educated; on the other hand, some poor children will never have the chance to go to school without the requirements. Moreover, social regulations prevent juveniles from deceit by their employers. To be specific, the employment law regulates the workhour and salary which should be paid to the employees; in contrast, workers may not get their salaries on time without the law.

For instance, driving laws help prevent accidents by setting age limits and requiring driver's education, which supports Sara's point about the importance of rules for safety.
改进示例2(英文): In addition, as Taehyun mentioned, it is crucial to strike a balance between strict rules and allowing young people some autonomy to make their own decisions.
Introduction: In my opinion, social rules are essential for young people as they provide protection and guidance, but it is important to strike a balance between strictness and autonomy.
改进示例2(英文): Transition: Furthermore, another aspect to consider is the enforcement of these rules, as mentioned by Taehyun.

6. Article Revision
In light of the perspectives shared by both Sara and Taehyun, I believe that social rules are indeed beneficial for young people. The primary focus should be on how these regulations safeguard youth from potential harm. Firstly, social rules ensure access to education for everyone, thanks to mandatory education requirements. Specifically, governments enforce compulsory education laws, enabling individuals to receive an education; conversely, without such requirements, underprivileged children might never have the opportunity to attend school. Furthermore, social regulations protect young workers from exploitation by their employers. Employment laws stipulate work hours and wages that must be paid to employees; in the absence of such legislation, workers may not receive their salaries punctually or fairly. (118 words)
