Let's continue talking about consumer behavior. We have beendiscussing different ways people go about choosing what products tobuy, and there are many potential sources of information and advice forconsumers. In your opinion, which is the better strategy for makingpurchasing decisions, relying on advice from friends and family, ordepending on information from online sources? Why?
Student A
Asking friends and family members for product recommendations might seem like an easier option, but it might take too much time to get all the information you need. An internet search would be much more efficient. There are many consumer magazines available online that compile lots of data to compare the advantages and disadvantages of one product versus another.
Student B
The last time I bought a computer, I just watched a few videos online to make a decision, and now I regret that. My friends could have advised me better because they know my preferences and the kind of features that I am interested in. Consumers should get advice from the people around them to find the most suitable products.
From my perspective, I would prefer browsing information and getting the advice from Internet since strangers will not be more likely to tell a white lie than friends and family. To be more precise, it is only in an environment where opinions are all told truthfully and directly that we can allocate our money to purchase the thing without those filters that friends or family may have on us. For example, last week, I was willing to buy a long dress that may be fit for people who are more skinnier than I do. Instead of the comfort from my friends that the dress can fit me well, the real comments and the put-on pictures from other people under the product information page made me realize that the dress are not in my size. And I finally didn't purchase the dress and save the money. Nevertheless, some might claim that friends can provide more useful information because they know your preferences better. However, they are also more willing to tell the white lies by catering to your preferences, while maybe ultimately don't fit us.

1: Instead of saying "strangers will not be more likely to tell a white lie than friends and family," you could provide an example or explain why strangers are less likely to lie.
2: When discussing the dress example, you could elaborate on how the online reviews helped you make a better decision, such as mentioning specific comments or aspects of the dress that were discussed in the reviews.
One major advantage of using online sources for purchasing decisions is the honesty and directness of the reviews."
On the other hand, some might argue that friends can provide more useful information because they know your preferences better."

Title: 6
In my opinion, relying on online sources for purchasing decisions is a more effective strategy than seeking advice from friends and family. This is primarily because strangers on the internet are less likely to sugarcoat their opinions or tell white lies, as opposed to those who are close to us. A truthful and direct environment enables us to make informed decisions without the filters that our loved ones may inadvertently impose.
For instance, last week I considered buying a long dress that seemed better suited for individuals with a slimmer build than mine. Rather than receiving reassurances from friends that the dress would fit me well, I found genuine comments and pictures from other customers on the product information page. This honest feedback allowed me to realize that the dress was not the right size for me, ultimately saving me money.
Admittedly, some may argue that friends can offer more valuable insights since they understand our preferences better. However, their desire to please us may lead them to tell white lies or cater too much to our preferences, which could result in unsuitable recommendations. In contrast, online sources present a wider range of unbiased opinions and data-driven comparisons that enable consumers to make well-informed decisions. (208 words)
