I think getting students into the habit of writing reflectively can be very beneficial. Journal writing gives students an opportunity to develop their own ideas about what they're learning whether it's for a math class or a literature class. It could also give the teacher an informal way to gauge how well students are comprehending the lessons.
Student B
I'm not convinced journal writing is worthwhile in classes. Teachers have a lot of material to cover, and students have much to learn. Unless a student is particularly interested in journal keeping, the student might view journaling as just more busy work. For there to be a benefit, students would need to take it seriously. I don't think all would.

In my opinion, journal writing is a superb approach to support learning as it allows students to reflect on themselves critically and develops their overall abilities. To elaborate, regular journal writing provides an opportunity for students to write their unique thoughts about questions presented in classes down to paper, promoting their academic abilities and problem-solving skills. For example, by tackling subjective issues, students have more chances to enforce their specific knowledge. They may even sprout diverse aspects of a certain challenge, such as using various methods to address an equation, which can foster their imagination and enable them to face more setbacks in the future with a positive mindset. Furthermore, during the recording process, students will be able to reflect on their disadvantages and list what they could improve in future learning, leading them to go further on the way to having a bright future. However, a voice arises that this is totally a waste of time. Students have to spend more time on their homework. Ironically, finishing assignments is not the only and sole way to help students improve, and we must realize that a comprehensive self-reflection is a crucial factor in youngsters’ rising journey.
