People travel for many reasons. Traveling allows people to practice a different language, explore and admire new landscapes, and encounter other cultures. In the past, physical travel was the only practical way to experience the pleasures and benefits of traveling. Today, television and the Internet allow people to experience many aspects of distant places without leaving their homes. Do you believe that exploring other places through technology offers many of the same benefits as in-person travel? Why or why not?
Claire
Absolutely, virtual travel offers many benefits of physical travel. Through the internet and TV, we can immerse ourselves in the sceneries, different cultures, and even pick up languages - all from home. It's eco-friendly, cost-effective, and allows us to better prepare for an actual trip.
Andrew
I don't believe exploring places through technology offers the same benefits as in-person travel. While virtual tours and online content give us a glimpse into different cultures, they fail to fully capture the sights, smells, sounds and feel of being there physically. It's only a shallow substitute for the real thing.

In this discussion, I concur with Andrew's viewpoint that virtual tours fail in giving tourists the physical feeling. Exploring the places through technology just gives us some pictures, videos, and histories of these places while seeing physically can provide tourists the real sense including smell and touch. Apart from Andrew's opinion, visiting the real place can offer people opportunities to connect with locals. Building connection with locals can enable tourists to learn different culture deeply, borden their horizens. For instance, I spent two weeks in Germany and I meet some peers and became good friends. Through the thoughtful and meaningful discussion of some global issues, I can learn different perspectives from people of different backgrounds, allowing me not assume one perspective as self-evident. Therefore, I firmly believe that travelling other places through technology can't offer the same benefits as in-person travel.

Section Title: 6 Article Revision
While I acknowledge the convenience and accessibility of virtual travel, I concur with Andrew's viewpoint that it falls short in providing a truly immersive experience. Exploring places through technology offers only a limited perspective, capturing images and information but lacking the sensory richness of physically being there. Beyond this sensory aspect, in-person travel fosters genuine connections with locals, which can lead to a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and broaden one's horizons. For example, during my two-week stay in Germany, I met peers who became good friends. Our thoughtful discussions on global issues allowed me to appreciate various perspectives from individuals with different backgrounds, challenging me to question my own assumptions. Consequently, I firmly believe that exploring other places through technology cannot replicate the multifaceted benefits of in-person travel. (134 words)
