From my perspective, I agree with the idea that since the world today is just so busy and crowded, we should not expect people to be polite to one another. As Aidrich says, being too polite to someone who is not as energetic as ourselves will lead to a lack of our own ability. Besides that, I want to add that it will also cause some disappointment and depresssion. IN fact, if we always be polite to others around us, we will unavoidablly expect others respect in return. However, in such a busy society, not many people can attach such a perfect performance to be polite in return which disappointed you and decrease your confidence and trust to others in the future. Moreover, actually I agree with the idea that Gary said that with meeting some wonderful people, there will be a positice circle that everyone be polite to create a warmer atomosphere in society, but with the ever fast techonology development, much more indifferent people will hurt such a positive circle, even causing worse influence that severly affect our affections. In a conclusion, not being so polite to the whole people is an effective way to protect ourselves in such busy world.

In today's fast-paced world, it is unrealistic to expect people to consistently maintain politeness towards one another. This essay will discuss the reasons behind this perspective, including the potential issues that excessive politeness may cause and the value of politeness in modern society.
To begin with, excessive politeness can lead to difficulties in professional settings. For instance, when collaborating with colleagues, an overly polite individual might be perceived as indecisive or lacking competence. In order to assert their position and demonstrate their capabilities, it is sometimes necessary for individuals to prioritize efficiency over politeness. Furthermore, adhering strictly to polite behavior may result in others taking advantage of one's kindness or perceiving them as easily manipulated.
Additionally, the accelerated pace of life in contemporary society makes it challenging for people to maintain constant politeness. In public spaces such as subway stations or shopping malls, individuals may be preoccupied with their own tasks and concerns, inadvertently neglecting those around them. Under these circumstances, expecting consistent politeness from others might lead to disappointment and even emotional distress.
Moreover, while it is true that treating others with respect can foster a positive atmosphere within a community, as Gary suggests, the rapid advancement of technology has contributed to an increase in impersonal interactions. As a result, maintaining a cycle of mutual politeness becomes increasingly difficult due to diminished opportunities for face-to-face communication.
In light of these factors, it is important for individuals to strike a balance between being polite and protecting their own interests in such a busy world. Rather than expecting unwavering politeness from everyone they encounter, people should focus on demonstrating respect and empathy when appropriate while also asserting themselves when necessary.
In conclusion, although it is not feasible to expect everyone to maintain consistent levels of politeness towards one another in today's hectic world, this does not mean that courteous behavior should be entirely abandoned. Instead, individuals should strive to exhibit respect and compassion at suitable times, working towards creating a more amicable and inclusive social environment. By acknowledging the limitations of politeness in a fast-paced society, we can better adapt to the challenges that modern life presents and foster meaningful connections with those around us.
